Happy New Year!!!

To the outside world we've been pretty quiet over the festive season, but that's largely because we've been busy having lots of Christmas fun together! Lots of great food (especially Amie's Chocolate cake and Mother of Steels nommy Christmas dinner!) plenty of booze and some lovely (and hilarious!) presents.

But alas, this blog isn't just to laugh at pictures of us drunk in our pyjamas, we've had an amazing year that we will remember fondly, and here's a few of our highlights.

Ok, just one more picture of us drunk in our pyjamas then...

A whole lot of blood, sweat and steel went into the last twelve months, we went out on our first tour, played a host of amazing festivals and too many good gigs to count, we played in lots of new places with some amazing bands and met a whole host of brilliant people, but perhaps our most crowning achievement to date - we finally released our debut album.

The album launch party at The Roadhouse was beyond our wildest expectations, and we will look back on that day as one of the happiest (and most stressful!) of our career!

We also welcomed a new member to the Dakesis family – our lovely merch girl Jo, who has hip-slapped her way into our hearts and will be joining us on many an adventure in the future!

Talking of the future, we’ve got some great plans for 2012 – in fact we’re already planning on hitting the studio this month to start pre-production on album number two.

We’ve finished writing around half of the album with about thirty or so other songs in various stages to choose from to finish up! Some of you may have already heard “The New Dawn” which hints at the musical direction album two will take, lots more neo-classical sections, plenty of whooa-ooah-ooaing and enough cheese to drown a stilton factory!

Worry not about us hiding away into the studio all year though, we’ve got plenty of great gigs lined up, check out www.Dakesis.com for current up-to-date listings (and we’ve got a few more that we can’t quite announce yet…!)

So we wish you all the best for the new year, and hope to see you at a gig sometime soon!

Happy New Year!
Lots of love
